This paper is designed for practising classroom teachers who wish to theorise the way they teach. It provides an overview for teachers to articulate, critique and explain their teaching practices using a sociocultural perspectives. It is suitable for beginning teachers, experienced classroom teachers, associate teachers working with student teachers on practicum, teachers who are mentoring beginning teachers, specialist classroom teachers and educators in a wide range of practice-related fields.

Aim of the paper

The aim of this paper is for students to articulate, critique and develop their own pedagogical theorising and practices, within the context of current national and international understandings of pedagogy.

This is a block course that has some face-to-face and online components that are supported in Moodle. The course begins online on Monday, 25 February and ends on Friday, 31 May 2019. Students are also expected to attend four face-to-face sessions. Content will be provided in the form of webinars, online forums, and face-to-face seminars. Students are expected to maintain a presence online.
